Renata Apanavičienė
I am Renata, lithuanian photographer in Malta. I called this beautiful island My Malta and almost 11 years enjoying it (even seeing so many changes).
I began my apprenticeship in Photography when I was a kid and I think that these first steps into the photography world were the most important. I was fascinated by the possibility to immortalize the evanescent moments of life and first subjects were family, friends, landscapes. My relationship with photography continues but from a simple hobby, 15 years ago it became my main occupation and deepest passion! I have always loved art (music, dance, painting, photography), and photography seemed like the perfect way for me to express myself and how i see all around me. Besides photography, I love traveling, dancing, i like music, theatre, like meeting new and interesting people and my Nikon helps me to do that - express myself.I capture what is surround me, that inspires me - people, men, women, places and the little things in life.
I like create, i like leave message and secret in my photos. In my opinion, a photographer has to be open minded, be creative, needs to pay attention, have patience and of course – passion! I’m curious about the world around me and photography helps me satisfy it, because every genre for me is an interesting challenge, a further step, a higher level. My main aim is to create images that attract, provoke emotion, stimulating the mind of the viewer and to convey my ideas and feelings of beauty which surround us everywhere. In my opinion life it’s about happiness, dreams, friendship, patience, love, and all that makes for good photos... And moreover – I’m sure that a good photo has nothing to do with an expensive camera or manual settings. A good photo has soul. And that is something you cannot see, something you cannot buy, something you cannot touch, something you cannot learn.
